Forerunner to the Walther P.38, the Walther HP (Heeres Pistole, literally Army Pistol) is most commonly seen proofed for commercial sale in Germany and abroad, with military inspected examples less frequently seen. Blade and notch sights, with the standard address, caliber and model markings on the left side of the slide, matching numbers on the frame, slide, barrel and locking block. Commercial "eagle/N" proofs are present on the slide and locking block, Walther's "eagle/359" military inspection proof on the right side of the slide, and "35" stamped on the left side of the frame. Fitted with a set of brown plastic grips and a blued magazine, numbered "35" on the spine to match the frame but otherwise unmarked.

Excellent, with 98% plus bright original high polish blue finish, showing a few spots of copper-tone patina, bright edge wear and mild handling marks. The grips are in equal condition, with some light scuffs. The safety lever hangs up a bit, otherwise mechanically excellent.
