Built on a standard length Mauser action, this big game rifle features ramped beaded blade front and two leaf express rear sights. The barrel is marked "M.K. OWEN" on the top at the center, and "40 NEWTON" on the left of the chamber. It is mated to a standard length Mauser Model 98 action marked on the left wall with the Mauser address and on the bridge with the Mauser Banner logo. Mounted in a wonderfully contrasted and figured multi-point checkered Schnabel tip pistol grip walnut stock with Universal red rubber recoil pad. The included correspondence from Ken Owen states that this rifle is one of three built in recent years with the help of Larry Wales' book "The Newton Rifle" (2nd Edition) and also provides information on the .40 Newton cartridge. A Plano case and shipping box are also included.

Excellent as custom built, retaining 99% plus professionally reblued finish with limited handling marks, some light pitting under the finish, and light spots of surface oxidation. Wood is also excellent with a couple dings and scratches and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
