Description:

Produced in the mid to late 1920's, from an oil painting "Tex and His Horse, Patches" by Frank Schoonover, which depicts a western lawman on his horse, Colt SAA with ornate handle visible on his hip, amid desert scenery. "Frank E. Schoonover" signature and the date "'25" visible in lower right corner, with "Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Co./Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A." markings in the lower middle. Mounted in a wooden frame measuring 41 1/8 inches x 28 inches.

Rating Definition:

Very good as trimmed, the artwork shows some crazing in the paint, but retains an bright coloration with minimal fading. The frame has some separation at each of the corners, and some minor cracking along the woodgrain, but remains otherwise very fine.
