Description:

Manufactured in 1923 with standard one-line address on top of the barrel, caliber marking on the left of the barrel, and two-line patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt on the left of the frame. Matching numbers on the frame and right side of the grips straps, and hand marked on the inside of each grip panel (four times on the right panel, and three times on the left panel). The rear face of the cylinder has the matching number "77". "L.G.J." is hand carved on the butt of the left panel and "J.C.D." is on the butt of the grip frame in punch dots.

Rating Definition:

Fine, retains 70% plus of the original blue finish and 75% plus of the vibrant original case colors with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina and a cylinder drag line. The grips are also very good with the hand carving as noted above, tool markings on the butt of the right panel from removing another marking, a few scattered light handling marks, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
