Description:

Browned Damascus steel barrels with a blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights on the smooth solid rib. The casehardened hammer backaction shows light scroll engraving with "C. BROCKWAY/BROCKPORT, PA" marked on either lockplate and features double set triggers designed to have one hammer cocked at a time. Nicely flame figured forend and stock with aggressive drop and a crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Good, showing a mix of brown and grey patina on the metal with a few dings and scratches, and worn but well-defined checkering. Mechanically fine. This is a scarce example of an American made cape gun with clear influence from other guns of the time such as Winchester rifles and with a traditional muzzle loader style stock, definitely a piece worthy of any American arms collection.
