Manufactured in 1876, Colt's "New Line" of revolvers were introduced alongside their legendary Single Action Army, likely in an effort to have guns that were marketable on both the Western Frontier as well as in the growing urban centers of the world. The barrel is marked with the standard two-line address on top, "COLT NEW 41" in an etched panel on the left, and small British proofs on the bottom and on the cylinder. The left side of the frame is marked "41CAL C". The matching serial number is on the left of the grip frame, bottom of the barrel, and on the rear face of the cylinder ("7706", a factory error).
