Manufactured in 1876, Colt's "New Line" of revolvers were introduced alongside their legendary Single Action Army, likely in an effort to have guns that were marketable on both the Western Frontier as well as in the growing urban centers of the world. The barrel is marked with the standard two-line address on top, "COLT NEW 41" in an etched panel on the left, and small British proofs on the bottom and on the cylinder. The left side of the frame is marked "41CAL C". The matching serial number is on the left of the grip frame, bottom of the barrel, and on the rear face of the cylinder ("7706", a factory error). Excellent, retains 95% plus of the original high polish blue finish and 95% of the vibrant original case colors with some light handling/storage type wear, most noticeably on edges and high spots. The grips are also excellent with some scattered light handling marks and showing nice figure. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with a couple minor cracks in corners of the lid and otherwise a few scattered light handling/storage marks.
