The included factory letter states the revolver was shipped to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. of Chicago, Illinois, on March 12, 1923, with a 5 1/2 inch barrel in .32-20 caliber, blue finish, and type of stocks not listed. This was a single gun shipment. The revolver has subsequently been converted to .45 LC with a replacement 7 1/2 inch barrel and cylinder. The barrel has the one-line Hartford address on top and "45 COLT" on the left side and a replacement blade front sight pinned to the shaved down original sight. Fitted with a set of period replacement Rampant Colt deep set medallion fleur-de-lis checkered grips. Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and back strap. Matching assembly number "413" on loading gate and rear of frame.

Fine as converted to .45 caliber (see above), retaining 80% original blue finish with grip straps and ejector rod housing mostly a smooth gray patina, high edge wear, and limited pitting. Hammer and frame retain 60% original case colors. The replacement grips are slightly oversized and have some minor handling marks with overall crisp checkering. Mechanically fine.
