Description:

The Colt Bisley model was only manufactured in 1894-1912. For many, the Bisley feels better in the hand and cocks and fires easier thanks to its lower and wider hammer and the wider trigger making them excellent sidearms for serious marksmen. The accompanying factory letter for this classic example states it was shipped to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett Co. of Chicago, Illinois, on January 27, 1905, with a 7 1/2 inch barrel in .32-20 caliber and type of stocks not listed. It has the standard one-line Hartford address on top of the barrel and "(BISLEY MODEL)" and the caliber marking on the left. The left of the frame is marked with the two-line patent dates and circled Rampant Colt. Matching serial numbers are visible on the frame, trigger guard, and back strap, and the assembly number "8577" is on the inside of the loading gate. Fitted with a pair of checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colts at the tops. Comes with an extra set of grips.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The cylinder, barrel and ejector rod housing retain 80% plus original blue finish with holster type wear. The grip straps retain 50% original blue finish with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The hammer and frame retain 60% original case colors. The slightly undersized replacement grips are also fine with a few minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
