British New Land Pattern Cavalry Flintlock Pistol

The New Land Pattern pistols in several variations were widely used by the British during the Napoleonic Wars and War of 1812, with this example made later circa 1830-1837 during the short reign of King William Henry IV. Marked with the crown over "WR" royal cypher on the lock at center, small proof and property marks on the lock, barrel, and stock, and a belt hook on the left with a captive ramrod.

ConditionVery good, exhibiting bright polished iron surfaces, with some of the barrel markings worn, some scattered minor pitting, and crisp lock markings. The brass exhibits a bright golden patina. The stock is also very good, with numerous scattered mild scratches and dents and visible stampings. Mechanically excellent.
