Manufactured in 1909 with standard markings including the relatively rare "41 COLT" caliber marking on the left of the barrel. Only 16,402 were manufactured in this caliber compared to 150,683 in .45 Colt and 64,389 in .44-40 Winchester. Matching serial numbers are on the frame, trigger guard, and back strap, and the loading gate has the assembly number "84". The included factory letter confirms the current configuration (grips not listed) as well as shipment to Simmons Hardware in St. Louis on 1 March 1909. Includes a tooled leather holster with Biffar, Chicago maker's mark and a leather gunbelt with cartridge loops with V.L.&A., Chicago maker's mark (also marked "38").

Very good, retains 40% of the original blue finish and strong traces of the vibrant original case colors in sheltered areas with the balance mostly a smooth brown patina and a few scattered small patches of light surface pitting. The grips are also fine with a series of minor dings/chips on the butt of the right panel and otherwise minimal handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster and belt are very fine with some light wear.
