N. Curry & Bro. Agent Marked Silver Mounted "Peanut" Derringer Percussion Pocket Pistol

These tiniest of percussion derringers are very popular with collectors. This one was manufactured around the 1860s, likely by Henry Deringer. The barrel has seven-groove rifling, a German silver blade front sight, notch rear sight on the tang, "N. CURRY & BRO./SAN FRANCO CALA/AGENTS" marked on top, and "DERINGER/PHILADA" and "P" marked on the silver banded breech plug. The lock is marked "DERINGER/PHILADELA." There is some floral and scroll engraving. "1" is marked on the trigger guard tang, wedge, and likely on the inside of the lock and bottom of the barrel. "L.N." is hand inscribed on the left side of the checkered bird's head stock.

ConditionVery good with a mix of fading original brown finish and dark patina on the barrel, dark brown patina on the lock, mild oxidation, chipped nipple, aged patina on the silver, distinct markings and engraving, and minor overall wear. The stock is fine and has crisp checkering, a divot on the right side by the toe, and some light scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.
