The basic Sea Service pattern was used from the mid-18th century into the early 19th century by the Royal Navy around the globe including during the French & Indian War, American Revolution, War of 1812, and Napoleonic Wars. "TOWER" marked at the tail of the lock, St. Edward's crown above "GR" and "crown/broad arrow" marked at the center of the lock, the left rear of the barrel is marked with two British proof marks, barrel made without sight provisions, full walnut stock with a brass trigger guard and fittings, a 7 1/2 inch iron belt hook marked with a crown mounted on to the brass left side plate, a broad arrow above "1805" date stamped on the top right wrist of the stock, and a wooden ramrod with a swollen brass tip.

Fine with bright iron surfaces, some light surface freckling on the barrel and a few small patches of minor pitting, mostly bright patina on the lightly cleaned brass, and sharp markings. The lightly refinished stock is very good with some light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Fine with some light surface freckling on the iron surfaces, mostly bright patina on the brass, and sharp markings. The stock is also fine with numerous scattered dents and scratches, a few small chips, a mild crack on the right below the barrel line, a mild crack in the ramrod channel, and defined stampings. Replacement ramrod has a loose brass tip. Mechanically excellent.
