Manufactured in 1923, this is a very good example of a pre-World War II commercial Colt Government Model pistol. The left side of the slide has the two-line address/patent dates and the right side has the caliber marking followed by a Rampant Colt. The left of the trigger guard is marked "1/VP" and the right is marked "22". The right side of the frame has the Government Model marking over the serial number. It has the "old model" features including the long smooth trigger, wide checkered hammer, non-dished frame, and straight smooth mainspring housing with a lanyard loop. Fitted with checkered diamond pattern grips and an unmarked two-tone magazine. Includes an extra magazine and a modern Kraft style box with hand marked matching label.
