Unlike many early Weimar-era Commercial Lugers to hit the American market after World War I, which were made from left-over military components or entirely refurbished military surplus handguns, the A. F. Stoeger imported "American Eagle" Commercial Luger pistols were made by the DWM factory (and later Mauser) specifically for the A.F. Stoeger Arms Company of New York. It is estimated little more than 1,000 were produced, and they are very difficult to find today. Features fixed bade front and notch rear sights, with "crown/N" proofs on the barrel, extension, and bolt, "DWM" marked front toggle link, and the "A.F. STOEGER INC/NEW YORK" address on the right of the extension. The extractor and upper safety position have German-style "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" markings. Matching external serial numbers, niter blue and straw colored small parts, unnumbered checkered grips, and a nickel-finished magazine with an unmarked wood base.

Very fine, retaining 90% plus refurbished blue finish and straw colors with light handling marks, slight fading on the extension and side plate, and crisp grip checkering on the excellent grips. Mechanically excellent.
