Smith & Wesson .38/44 Outdoorsman (Pre-War) Double Action Revolver with Box and Factory Letter

Period short-action conversion, likely by King Gunsight Co. with special hammer. As confirmed in the included factory letter, the revolver was shipped on October 25, 1932, and delivered to A. Novak & Co. of Cicero, Illinois, with a Call gold bead front sight, blue finish, and checkered walnut grips. Matching serial numbers on the butt, right grip panel, cylinder, and ejector shroud. Comes with the correct model S&W blue box. Provenance: The Dave Ballantyne Collection

ConditionExcellent, retaining 97% original blue finish with some holster type wear, cylinder drag line, and scattered handling marks. The grips are also excellent with some minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine.
