Florida Police Shipped Nickel Smith & Wesson .38 Military & Police Model of 1905 4th Change Double Action Target Revolver with Factory Letter

The accompanying factory letter states the revolver was shipped on February 21, 1939, to the Lakeland Police Department, Lakeland Police Station, Lakeland, Florida, with a 5 inch barrel, adjustable rear target sight, nickel finish, and checkered walnut Magna grips. Matching serial numbers on the butt, cylinder, and barrel. Provenance: The Dave Ballantyne Collection

ConditionVery fine as a rare finish law enforcement special order revolver, retaining 90% original nickel plating. The grips are very good with "JOE" hand marked on the right panel at the top, a couple chips along the front strap, and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
