The included factory letter lists these revolvers as leaving the factory as a pair in .45 caliber with 7 1/2 inch barrels, nickel finish, and grips not listed when shipped to Universal Traders in Canton, Illinois on April 14, 1959. The pair is fitted with blade front and frame notch rear sights and wear a set of hard rubber full checkered grips with Rampant Colt panel at the top. Matching serial numbers are found on the frame, triggerguard, and back strap with abbreviated serial numbers on the front cylinder face and consecutive assembly numbers on the loading gates. The pair is fitted in a hardwood double gun case with red velvet lining fit for both guns. Includes a reproduction box numbered to each revolver and an El Paso Saddlery Co. double holster rig with rear cartridge loops. Page 64 in Don Wilkerson's "Colt Single-Action Revolver Handbook 1955-1975" states that only 36 sets in this configuration were made, making this an example of the rarest consecutive sets of standard revolvers made.
