Description:

This is a four section hickory rod 27-5/16 inches long. Three of the sections are 7 inches long including the screw. Two of the sections have a 19/32 inch iron male tip and three have a 11/16 inch female tip. The fourth section is 6-9/16 inches long with a 15/16 inch female end and a 19/32 inch male tip. The male end of the wood rod has been whittled down and the top riveted. There are four turned rings on one end and the last is rounded off. When the rod was broken down it was designed to fit into a hole that was drilled into the stock which was covered by a trapdoor cover on the buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. All of the iron tips show some rust and minor pitting, there is a small chip by one of the female ends. There are a couple of small chips on the turned end and a small chip on the tip. The rods and tips all remain solid.
