Description:

This is an excellent unaltered example of a very RARE copy of the WWII German G43 semi-automatic rifle as manufactured by Itajuba in Brazil. These rifles were one of the first attempts by the Brazilian Government to modernize their army with a new and improved semi-automatic rifle. The rifle overall is almost a direct copy of the German G43 of WWII fame with the exception of some basic design improvements in the gas system, no sniper scope rail and it uses the standard 30-06 round. The gas system still uses the tappet system which bleeds gas off the barrel that is identical to the G43 and Tokarev rifles, except that some of the parts have been produced out of stainless steel to prevent corrosion and improve their service life. The rest of the rifle, the receiver, trigger guard, bolt, bolt carrier, front and rear sights and receiver cover are pretty much identical to the German G43 rifle. It is estimated that fewer than 100 of these rifles were produced with only a very few ever being seen much less imported into the US. The left side of the receiver is marked "Mq. S/Aut. 30 M954, SER A12" and the right side is marked "FABRICA DE ITAJUBA-BRAZIL". It has a one piece stock and handguard made from hardwood indigenous to Brazil with finger grooves on the sides of the stock and handguard.

Rating Definition:

Excellent to like new condition overall with 98-99% of the factory parkerized finish. The stock and handguard are also in excellent condition with minimal handling marks and a few heavier scratches on the forend. A very RARE rifle in superior condition.
