Description:

The 98K was the primary service rifle as used by all German forces throughout the war. The top of the receiver is marked "bnz/ 43", the wartime code for Steyr-Daimler and the year of manufacture. The rear sight base is marked with the Eagle over WaA77 Waffenampt proof and the left side of the receiver and rear portion of the barrel both have the correct Nazi Winged Eagle firing proof. The barrel bands, trigger guard and floor plate are the early all milled versions and the stock and handguard are the correct wartime laminated versions, with "805" and "1-8115" scratched into the sides of the buttstock and a cupped buttplate. Complete with a knife bayonet, marked "E. PACK& S/ SOLINGEN", with a 10 inch blade, metal sheath and brown leather frog.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with approximately 70% of the faded original blue finish showing even honest wear on the exposed metal surfaces overall and it has an incorrect barrel band spring. The stock is revarnished, with a number of scratches and dents with a heavier gouge between the barrel bands, with some light sanding around the butt area. Bayonet is very good, with some light wear on the finish. Action is excellent.
