The Model 62 was introduced to take the place of Models 1890 and 1906 when they were dropped in 1932. This Model 62A rifle was manufactured in 1948. With fixed front and adjustable rear sight, 3/4 length tube magazine, smooth trigger, serrated hammer spur, seventeen groove slide handle and straight grip stock with a black plastic buttplate marked "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO" in a circle. The left side of the barrel is marked with the Winchester name, model and caliber information. Winchester proof marks are adjacent to each other on the top of the barrel and receiver and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver and the rear lower tang.

Very good plus condition with 80-85% of the original blue finish remaining. Some thinning is noticeable at the muzzle, and on the tube magazine, slide bar, receiver top and sides of the hammer from chambering rounds. Very few minor handling and usage dings and marks. The wood is in excellent condition with normal handling marks and pressure dents. The action is fine.
