The Model 63 took the place of the model 1903 in an attempt by Winchester to solve the problem of having to use a special .22 caliber cartridge in the gun to operate the blowback system. This rifle was manufactured in 1950 featuring a dovetailed blade front sight and adjustable sporting rear sight. The left side of the barrel is marked with the Winchester address over the proof steel marking followed by "WINCESTER/ TRADEMARK" and " MODEL 63-22 L.RIFLE-SUPERSPEED & SUPER-X". Smooth pistol grip stock and forearm with a metal forend cap and smooth steel butt plate with tubular magazine through the buttstock.

Excellent. The rifle retains approximately 98% of the original blue finish with only minor handling marks and high edge wear. The wood is excellent with only light pressure dents and handling marks. The markings are crisp. The bore is bright. This is an excellent example of the desirable Winchester Model 63.
