Produced in 1900, this is a Second Model 1890 rifle. The serial number is marked on the lower tang only. Features a blade front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. Two line Winchester address marked on top of the barrel, "22 SHORT" also marked on the top of the barrel just in front of the receiver. The model designation and trade mark are stamped on the upper tang. Takedown receiver with the thumbscrew on the left side of the receiver and internally locking bolt. Smooth straight grip stock with short 12-groove forearm and a crescent steel buttplate.

Fine (with exception noted below), with approximately 70% of the faded original blue finish, showing light edges wear and minor scratching. Bright and vivid casehardening colors remain, strongest on and around the trigger guard, which has pitting on the bottom, with strong traces of the original pattern elsewhere. The stock is revarnished, with heavy dings on the buttstock, and moderate scratching and varnish loss overall. Action is fine.
