WWII Model 98 rifle as completely modified to resemble a VK 98 rifle. The rear sight and base have been removed, showing the stepped barrel with an inverted "V" front sight. The top of the receiver ring is marked "bnz", the wartime code for the Steyr factory, along with an "eagle over swastika" on the left side, both highlighted in white. The receiver side wall is blank with a notch rear sight on the ring and the bolt handle is bent down. The right side of the shortened stock has the "eagle over swastika" acceptance proof above "H.J. 35" on the butt. It is complete with an unmarked leather sling.

Good with approximately 40% of the original finish remaining. The barrel has wear rings where the original full stock and upper hand guard made contact. The stock has been crudely cut down and modified overall. The buttplate is ill fitting and has sharp edges and the bolt has been bent down. The sling is secured in the buttstock by a ring on the right side. There are holes in the bottom of the stock where an attachment has been removed. The markings are clear and crisp. The action is excellent.

NC - FINE- All original finish 90% - 94% or better, some dings in wood wear commensurable with percent of finish. In working order.

World War II vintage Spanish bolt action Mauser. The top of the receiver ring has the Spanish Air Force Emblem highlighted in white and the left side has the caliber information followed by the serial number. The serial numbers on the receiver, bolt handle, floor plate and assembly all match. Inverted V front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 2000 meters and a bayonet stud. It has the original early style short rifle wood and handguard, milled trigger guard, floor plate, side mounted sling swivel and is complete with a leather sling. Several acceptance marks are visible but unreadable on the buttstock.

Very fine condition with approximately 90% of the original finish remaining. The stock has been refinished with light handling marks and pressure dents. The leather sling is very good.
