Produced between 1871 and 1879. Marked "WHITNEYVILLE ARMORY CT. U.S.A./ PAT. MAY 23. 1871" on the top flat of the barrel. Blade front sight and frame notch rear sight. Five shot fluted cylinder with pushbutton cylinder pin release. Nickel plated frame with blued spur trigger and checkered casehardened hammer. Geometric patterns engraved on the barrel, cylinder, breech area of frame and back strap, with punch-dot backed scroll engraving on the sides of the frame. Smooth rosewood grips with bird's head butt.

Near fine, with 90% of the original nickel remaining. Some light dings are visible under the surface, along with some exposed brass visible along the high edges. The grips are revarnished, with minor varnish loss and pressure dents. Cylinder pin is a crude replacement. Mechanically needs work.
