Cannon measures 9"long, with a bright nickel finish. Mechanically, a breech loader (appears to have taken a 12 ga shell). To load, the hammer was cocked, the muzzle rotated down, raising the breech, which freed the breech block allowing it to open. The carriage is nickel finished with darkened textured areas, measuring 11" by 4 1/4" by 6" tall, marked "REMEMBER THE MAINE" on each side, with "PAT. PENDING" on the left, a "USA" monogram on the backside and "W.S. HAWKER M'F'R'. DAYTON, O." on the inside. An impressive piece of Spanish-American war memorabilia.

In very good to excellent condition, with some light spotting and flaking overall, along with some light handling marks.
