Colt Model 1849 Wells Fargo Pocket Percussion Revolver

Made in 1853. Brass pin front and hammer notch rear sights, with the bracketed two line "ADDRESS SAML COLT / NEW YORK CITY" address on the top flat, "COLTS/ PATENT" on the left side of the frame and the stagecoach scene on the cylinder. Excluding the stuck wedge, matching numbers appear on the cylinder, barrel lug, frame, grips, trigger guard and backstrap.

ConditionGood, with minor traces of the dull blue finish, visible in the protected areas on the underside of the barrel and around the edges, with a mixed gray patina visible on the exposed areas. Some mild pitting is visible, concentrated on the cylinder, with some dings and tool marks, concentrated around the wedge. The frame is a mixed gray, with some spotting and dents. Backstrap is nearly covered in original patented silver, with traces around the trigger guard and aged brass in the exposed areas. The grips are period refinished, with a chip absent from the right side near the tip, toe chipping and some mild pressure dents. Action is very good.
