Description:

The rifle features double barrels that revolve, each having it's own bolster, nipple and iron sights. One barrel is rifled, the other is not. One side of the barrels has a solid rib with maple panels with brass tip. The reverse panel accommodates the wooden ramrod. The top of each barrel flat is marked "H.D. * PHILADELA". The lock plate is a simple leaf type engraving. The brass patch box and lower buttplate tang are engraved and the side plate has a thumb rest. The buttstock is tiger stripe maple with a brass trigger guard and crescent buttplate, raised cheekpiece with silver star inlay, silver shield inlays on both sides of the wrist and single trigger.

Rating Definition:

Good. The brown finish on the barrels has tuned to a pleasant dark brown patina. The rest of the iron components have a smooth dark patina. There is some moderate pitting on the hammer and moderate flash pitting. The brass has been cleaned at one time and now exhibits a smooth aged patina with a chip in the trigger guard and some minor dings. The revarnished wood is good with some minor dings, dents, chips and scratches. The loose ramrod channel is cracked with a couple of mild cracks near a pipe and a slivers of wood missing. The left panel also is missing slivers of wood. The top of the buttstock has eight large and deep dents. The hammer and barrels are loose. The barrel marking is crisp.
