Description:

The top barrel flat behind the rear sight is marked "D.S. EBERSOL / JAS-COOK / BURLINGTON / IOWA" and the left side rear flat is marked "J. WILT & CO". The lock is engraved with a game bird scene behind the hammer, light scroll engraving in front of the hammer and marked "D.S. EBERSOL" and "BURLINGTON IOWA", with Burlington stamped over another marking. Lightly engraved decorative trigger guard. All surfaces finished bright and mounted on a one piece half stock with cheekpiece, wooden ramrod and sling swivels mounted on the butt and ramrod pipe.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The rifle is bright finish with areas of smooth gray and scattered discoloration. The stock has been period varnished and is very good with a small chip on the toe, a minor crack on the left flat, shape edges on the flats and a few minor handling marks. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
