Unique Stevens Model 520-30 Trench Gun With Rare FBI Property Marked Stock

Stevens WWII Model 520-30 Trench Gun with six-hole handguard/bayonet adapter. The shotgun was arsenal over-hauled and refinished at Ogden Arsenal. The left side of the stock is stamped with the arsenal "O.G." inspection mark in a rectangle. The left side of the stock is also marked "FBI PROPERTY". The shotgun has an even, gray-green parkerized finish on all components. The stock and slide handle have an oil finish and the stock has the factory checkered pistol grip found on early production Steven 520-30 trench guns. The stock is fitted with a black plastic serrated buttplate. The left side of the receiver and barrel are stamped with the small "P/Shell and Flame" Ordnance inspection marks. The serial number "43946" is stamped on the receiver tang behind the trigger guard. The standard Stevens logo, patent, gauge and chamber markings are present on the left side of the barrel. The handguard/bayonet adapter has no visible markings. The Army procured approximately 35,000 Stevens Model 520-30 trench guns during WWII. The Steven 520-30 trench guns remained in Army inventory after WWII although many excess trench guns were transferred to law enforcement agencies.

ConditionNear mint as arsenal over-hauled. The shotgun retains more than 98% of the arsenal parkerized finish and shows only very light storage wear. Markings on the barrel and receiver are sharp. The stock and slide handle are in excellent plus condition with minimal storage marks and crisp checkering and Ordnance inspection stamps. The FBI markings are lightly stamped but clear. An excellent example of an arsenal over-hauled Steven 520-30 trench gun with very scarce FBI property markings.
