Remington Percussion Half Stock Target Rifle

Part octagon barrel fitted with German silver blade front sight, adjustable sporting type rear sight and adjustable peep sight. The light scroll engraved lock plate is marked "REMINGTON". Straight grip half stock with brass trigger guard, double set triggers, brass patch box and brass crescent buttplate. There are single silver diamond inlays on both sides of the wrist and a dog-like silver inlay on the left side of the buttstock. Equipped with a replacement wood ramrod with brass tip.

ConditionGood. The barrel is mostly a brown patina with bright areas on the high edges and some minor dings and scratches. There is some moderate flash pitting and some light surface rust. The lock plate and hammer have a smooth dark patina. The brass has a been cleaned at one time and is now exhibiting a mellow aged patina with some minor dark spotting. The lower buttplate tang is broken and has been period repaired with a tack. The ramrod channel has been repaired. The revarnished wood has some minor dings, dents, chips, scratches and a few moderate gouges. The right side of the forearm is cracked and has been period repaired with a tack and a minor crack is located on the left stock flat.
