Description:

Like many of these revolvers, this one is unmarked except for the serial numbers which match throughout. They were the first firearms made by William Hankins, several years before he sold his business to his neighbor William P. Uhlinger to raise the money to go into business with Christian Sharps. The only decoration on the revolver is four knurled rings around the cylinder. This is one of the few percussion revolvers made with a spur trigger. They were made to take advantage of the fact that Colt's patent expired, but were not large enough to satisfy the public's needs. Only about 650 were made.

Rating Definition:

Very good to fine with about half of the bright blue remaining on the barrel and cylinder. Only traces of silver remain on the frame, which has a smooth brown patina. All metal surfaces have scattered specks of surface rust, The grips retain about 90% of their original varnish. Mechanically fine.
