Description:

Brass blade sight on barrel with one band and "JH / P" marking on the left side of the barrel. Lockplate marked vertically "MIDDTV / CONN. 1847" behind the hammer and "US / H. ASTON" in front. "H" marked on most of the components with "C" on the trigger guard, "P" on the hammer and "1847" on the tang. (The date of the Mexican American War). Smooth stock marked with two cartouches and brass trigger guard and backstrap/buttcap.

Rating Definition:

Good. The metal surfaces, including the brass, have been cleaned at one time and are now beginning to age again. There is some pin point pitting. The reoiled wood is good with some minor scratches, dings and chips and a few moderate dents. There is a shallow indentation on the right side of the grip. The markings are clear with limited fading.
