Deluxe Model 1895 Marlin Lever Action Rifle with Rare Extra Length Barrel

Model 1895 Marlin lever action rifle with scarce, special order 32-inch octagon barrel and checkered forearm and pistol grip stock. The rifle has a blued barrel and magazine with casehardened receiver, hammer, loading lever and crescent buttplate. The walnut forearm and pistol grip stock are varnished. The barrel is fitted with a large, dovetailed German silver front sight blade and a sporting type rear sight. The left side of the barrel is marked: "- SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL-" below the rear sight and has the two line Marlin address and 1887-1893 patent dates in two lines on the top barrel flat. The top of the receiver is roll stamped: "-MARLIN SAFETY-" with arrows at either end. The upper receiver tang is marked: "MODEL/1895."

ConditionGood as partially refinished (stock). The barrel and magazine tube have half of the dull blue finish. The casehardened finish on the receiver, hammer, loading lever and butt plate has aged to a silver-gray patina with traces of the original case colors in protected areas. The markings on the barrel and receiver are crisp. The stock and forearm have been sanded and re-varnished. The checkering on the period repaired pistol grip shows dowel pinning and a hairline crack that was reglued. A very good example of a Marlin Model 1895 Rifle with special order barrel, stock and forearm.
