American Arms Double Barrel Derringer in .32 Rimfire and .22 Rimfire

Manufactured circa 1866 to 1878 with an estimated total quantity of combination caliber derringers at 3,000. "WHEELER'S PAT. OCT. 31. 1865-JUNE 19 1866" marked on top of the barrel chambered for the .32 rimfire cartridge and "American Arms CO. Boston MASS" marked on top of the barrel chambered for the .22 rimfire cartridge. Superposed barrels manually rotate for loading and firing. Blue barrels with silver-plated brass frame. Fitted with square butt grips.

ConditionFine. The barrels retain approximately 40% of the original blue finish with the balance a brown patina. The frame retains approximately half of the plating. The grips are excellent with some minor scratches and some light nicks on the bottom edge. The butt has some light varnish flaking. The markings are clear and crisp.
