Description:

Dated 1847 on the lock plate and barrel tang. Half moon front sight on barrel with swivel-type ramrod. The lock plate is marked "US/ H.ASTON" and "MIDDtn/ CONN./ 1847", and the barrel is marked "U.S./ JH/ P" and "1847". Brass barrel band with extension strap connecting to the side plate, with "JH" and "W.A.T" inspector's cartouches on the left flat of the wood. Smooth walnut stock with brass furniture.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with crisp markings, some light spotting on the once cleaned bright finish, signs of age on the brass and scattered handling marks. Stock is very fine, with crisp cartouches and minor pressure dents. Action is excellent.
