Several parts are marked with "crown/ AF" proofs (Auguste Francotte of Liege, Belgium). In addition, the barrel has a "C in shield" proof and the "E/ L G/ star" Liege proof house stamp. Barrel is unmarked other than the "AF" proof. A steel backstrap connects the barrel tang to the brass buttcap, which is fitted with a sling swivel, and the single barrel band connects to and shares a screw with the brass reverse plate. Smooth pistol grip, with "3/ 6" on the underside ahead of the brass trigger guard, a shield proof on the left side, and an iron front strap.

Rating Definition:

Good, with a few dark spots on the overall bright patina. Pitting is visible on the barrel behind the band, around the nipple, and in small patches on the lock plate, with a brown patina around the nipple. Some dings and scuffs are visible around the muzzle. Action needs work as it does not stay at full cock. Grip is sanded and revarnished, with a few small chips around the lock plate and mild pressure dents.
