Description:

This rifle was modified from rimfire to centerfire and chambered for the 11.7x42R Danish/Remington cartridge. The left rear barrel flat is marked with the serial number followed by a crown proof. The left side of the receiver is marked with the "Danish crown / script CR" over "M-1867". The upper tang is marked "KJOBENHAVN TOIHUUS 1883" and most components are stamped with a crown proof. Blade front and adjustable rear sight graduated to 2,100 yards on one side and 1,400 on the other. Fitted with a full forearm with exposed muzzle secured with three barrel bands and steel forend cap, steel cleaning rod with serrated and slotted head and straight grip stock with a steel carbine style buttplate. There is a sling swivel mounted on the stock and middle barrel band. The rifle is absent of the usual bayonet bar with lug on the right side of the barrel.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrel has a mix of plum patina and original blue finish with some very little pitting beginning to develop between the two rear barrel bands. The receiver shows approximately 80% of the original faded case colors with the balance a smooth gray patina. The wood is good with scattered minor dings, dents and scratches. The markings are clear and crisp. The action is fine. From the Will Hoffeld Collection.
