These pistols were reintroduced into the U.S. in 2001 and is based on the military version first built in 1949. This model was also designated the SP47/8 prior to 1957 and was designed as a target pistol. This pistol set is very unique in that the SIG case also contains an original 22 cal conversion unit with an extra slot for a 7.65 cal barrel/recoil spring and magazine, giving you three calibers in this lot. Fixed sights. Steel frame and slide. The trigger, hammer and slide release are a satin stainless steel. Serrated wrap-around walnut grips with a lanyard ring on the lower left side of the grip. The matching serial number is marked on the left side of the slide and frame. Complete in a factory black pebble grain leather bound case with blue French cut blue lining designed to hold the pistol, five piece cleaning rod kit in a blued metal container, blue 7.65 mm magazine, nickel 22 caliber magazine, four dummy rounds (two 7.65mm with the gun), 7.65 mm barrel, recoil spring and guide rod and 22 caliber slide, barrel, guide rod and spring. There is also a magazine reloading tool in the case. The 22 caliber slide is blue and is marked "S.P. 47/8 Cal. 22 lg. rf. SIG. Neuhausen a/Rhf." in one line and the right side of the barrel chamber and slide are marked "40343".
