Spectacular WWII British/Canadian Long Branch No4 MKI Sniper Rifle with Storage Chest, Scope Bag, Binoculars, and All Other Accessories

This is an exceptional example of a WWII Canadian No 4 MKI * sniper rifle as manufactured by Long Branch in Ontario, Canada. This version of the Canadian No 4 rifle was not introduced until mid 1944. They were the equivalent Canadian version of the British No 4 MKI rifle. While some saw service, most were placed in storage and issued after WWII. The left side of the receiver is marked "No4 MKI * T / LONG BRANCH / 1945". The underside of the barrel at the muzzle is nitro proofed and marked ".303" 2.22" / 8.5 TONS". The left side of the butt socket is marked with serial number 90L8179 denoting manufacture at Long Branch and the right side of the receiver ring is marked with a "Crown / GP / ENGLAND". The rifle is equipped with a No. 32 MKIII sniper scope that is marked on top of the scope tube: "TEL STG No 32 MK III / COS 2039 A /REL CANADA/158-C/ broad arrow". The right side of the scope tube is marked with a stenciled blue "CB" and a red painted "W", indicating that the scope has bloomed lens and is water proofed. The scope is fitted with a set of leather lens caps that is stamped with a single "broad arrow" proof on the end of the lens cap. The scope is fitted in a Canadian mount that has the small broad arrow "C" proof that is numbered "90L8179 on the side (same as the rifle). The stock, forend and hand guard are the correct Canadian walnut versions with Canadian Broad Arrow "C" marking in the grip area as well as the Canadian Broad Arrow "C" proof on the front underside portion of the forend. The stock has the correct walnut cheekpiece mounted on top of the buttstock. It is complete with a WWII MILSCO leather sling dated 1943. This rifle is complete with the original Canadian No 15 MKI storage chest and the following accessories; the No 8 MK2, new model canvas scope bag, a No 4 MKII spike bayonet case with steel scabbard and canvas frog, a 1941 dated MKIII brass lensatic compass, a green cloth sniper Vail, 25 rounds of WWII MK IV ammo in the five round stripper clips, in the cloth bandoleer, a set of WWII Canadian binoculars marked Graticule & Apart/REL/Canada/1944 and C.G.B.53, 6X3 in the original canvas scope case, date 1943. Along with the soft back book on Canadian Snipers titled "Without Warning".

ConditionNear new with 99% plus of the of the original Canadian black painted finish. The stock, forend and hand guards are all near new with just a couple of minor pressure dents on the lower end of the buttstock by the sling swivel, with clear sharp proofs in the pistol grip area and forend. The telescope retains 99% of the original blued wartime finish with clear sharp markings and clear sharp optics. The No 15 carrying chest is in very good condition showing some cracking length wise in the lid and on the end piece at the buttstock end. It retains 98% of the original green paint, with clear and sharp markings and handle intact. The leather lens caps and sling are both in excellent condition, with clear markings. The Binoculars are in excellent condition with 98% of the original black painted finish with excellent optics that are clear. The case is also in excellent condition showing no wear with clear markings. The various accessories are all in excellent to like new condition, showing only minor wear.
