European origin, this rare four shot turret pistol has no makers mark and features floral engraving on the top barrel flat, sides and bottom of the frame, the backstrap and on the buttcap. The bottom of the barrel is marked "2" and the right flat is marked "JLC / BREVETE" in an oval. There is a top of the frame is fitted with a revolving turret with four percussion nipples mounted on it and the underside has a folding trigger. The trigger drops down and the turret rotates when the hammer is cocked. There is a hinged door and compartment on the right side of the frame. Fitted with smooth two piece nicely figured walnut grips with decorative escutcheons, and engraved screw head and end. There are reportedly only four of these pistols known to exist.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The pistol remains in the bright with scattered minor discoloration. There is a small amount of very minor pitting on the right side striking area of the hammer. The grips are very fine with most of the original varnish and a few overall scattered minor pressure dents and dings. The engraving is crisp and clear. The action is fine. Writer has never seen another one of these.
