Exceptional Late WWII K43 Sniper Rifle Complete with Original Scope and Mount

This is a very nice unaltered late-war production K43 Sniper rifle as manufactured by the Walther factory and given the war time code of "ac". These semi-automatic rifles were equivalent to the M1 Garand in the German Army and were intended to provide an increase in firepower. The left side of the receiver is marked with the Nazi Eagle acceptance proof with the Eagle 359, next to the large K43/serial number/ac 45 (stacked). It has the type three rough cast receiver with the dual bolt guides to help keep the bolt cover in alignment due to the increase in manufacturing tolerances. It is fitted with the late type bolt cover/carrier with the reinforcing web on top, the hollow cocking knob on the left side with the serial number below that and no provisions for the hold open latch. It has the stamped action cover with the sliding dust cover and the scope rail on the right side. The rifle is fitted with a late war scope mount with the rounded ends, with the serial number etched/milled on the front end of the mount and a single Eagle 359 Waffenamt in the middle under the locking lever. The scope was manufactured by the Opticotechna factory in Czechoslovakia and is marked on the right side with "Gw ZF 4/dow/8064" next to a small green painted triangle indicating warm weather use only. The stock and hand guard are the correct WWII laminated versions that show a rough machined exterior, with a partial Eagle 359 Waffenamts on the left side of the butt stock, below the sling slot and another smaller Eagle 359 Waffenamt proof in the pistol grip area. The magazine is a K43 marked "aye" with the Eagle WaA843 Waffenamt. The rifle has the all phosphate finish except for the barrel which has the wartime blue, and the scope mount has the wartime rough cast light gray finish with a blued finish on the scope. It is complete with an original cleaning rod, front sight hood, rubber muzzle cover, K43 style leather sling that is marked with a an ink proof on the back of " 7.92, some type of symbol/ 9", a metal rain shield for the scope and a set of lens caps that have the leather front cap and the wooden plug for the rear one.

ConditionExcellent overall with 98% of the original wartime finish showing minor edge and high spot wear with some very minor thinning on the exposed section of the barrel. The stock and hand guard are both in excellent condition with a nice even matching color with clear Waffenamt proofs. The scope and mount also retain 98% of their wartime finish with only minor edge wear. The scope is very cloudy optically probably just from where glue between the lens has aged and clouded over, but it does not have any specks inside. The rifle has matching visible numbers to include the scope mount. A very nice example of a late WWII German K43 snipe rig.
