Originally produced in 1915. This Springfield Armory 1911 pistol has been fully stripped and subsequently mounted in a shadowbox frame as a demonstration piece, consignor states as assembled by CCA member Robert Bloeth. At the top is a sign reading "COMPONENT PARTS/ SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL OF 1911, U.S. ARMY, CALIBER .45/ PATENTED FEB.14, 1911, COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO" , below the parts is a specification card with a pair of dummy .45 ACP rounds (one complete, one cut-away with simulated powder), and at the bottom is the component list. Fifty-three component parts are listed, with three of the grip screws and screw bushings left out of the case and the magazine pins listed as "Not used" (the magazine is the folded lip style). The case itself measures 18 3/8" wide and 24 1/2" tall, oak construction with a wood front.
