Description:

This lot consists of: 1) French-made "AU LION" Mark I Trench Knife with bright blade, un-blackened brass guard and blued scabbard with two belt clips. The grip is marked "U.S. 1918" on the right side. The recumbent Lion and "AU LION" manufacturers marks are present on the ricasso. 2) L.F. & Co Model 1917-18 Trench Knife, with 9 inch triangular blade, pyramid shaped knuckle studs and smooth finger grooved wooden grip. The bottom of the crossguard is marked, "U.S. / L.F. & C. / 1917". The guard and scabbard throat and tip have a blued finish. The scabbard has a green leather body.

Rating Definition:

1) Excellent. The blade shows minimal wear. The grip is excellent with little handling wear. The sheath is fine with nearly all the original finish. 2) Excellent. The triangular blade shows minor scabbard wear. The wood grip is excellent. The sheath is very fine with a brown patina and some wear to the green leather.
