Description:

This is a rare M1 Carbine as manufactured by the Irwin Pedersen company. The Irwin Pedersen company had the distinction of being the manufacturer who produced the fewest M1 Carbines of any of the other producers, making these the most difficult to find. The top of the receiver is marked "U.S. CARBINE / CAL 30 M1", the rear of the receiver is marked "IRWIN-PEDERSEN" over the serial number and the front of the barrel is marked "UNDERWOOD / 3-43" over the large Ordnance Bomb proof and a "P". The carbine still retains most of the early WWII parts such as the type one barrel band, flat bolt, flip rear sight, (marked "SW-IP" on the right side and "S" on the left), the early push button safety, (marked "IP-W" and unmarked magazine release button. The trigger guard is the milled version. The stock is correct high wood version with an "I" oiler slot that is marked "IR-IP" and ordnance bomb in the sling slot and crossed cannon cartouche on the right side. The sling swivel is marked "IP-PM". It is complete with one blue magazine marked "A.I." , green canvas sling and "U.S." marked green canvas hip holster.

Rating Definition:

Near mint as professionally restored. The carbine retains 97% of the green parkerized finish with some thinning and wear on the right side receiver rail, muzzle end of the barrel and on the bolt handle. The stock has been freshened and shows signs of some sanding, and remains very good with a couple of minor shallow gouges on the forend, a moderate pressure dent on the right side above the trigger and an area at the sling slot that has been heavily sanded. Otherwise there are only a few minor handling marks. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. The sling and holster are excellent.
