Description:

This rifle is a copy of a BM59 Beretta attempted to produce and field a rifle meeting the needs of the Italian Army in the universal 7.62 NATO round. The rifles were copied from the US M1 Garand but were modified to fire with a detachable box magazine and a muzzle compensator in place of the gas cylinder lock. The rear of the receiver is marked "7.62mm BM59 / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY circled T" over the serial number" The barrel is marked "SIAU 1967" along with a "M" and "P" proofs. The op-rod is marked "7.62 mm/2". The bolt release, trigger assembly and magazine are correctly marked "PB" indicating manufacture in Italy and the op-rod is marked "6635382 HR" and the remaining parts show US manufacture. The stock and hand guards are the later versions with no cartouches or inspection marks. Complete with one original ten round magazine.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% finish remaining showing some high edge wear and wear on the receiver from normal operation. The buttplate shows heavy wear and moderate pitting and oxidation. The stock is excellent with a few scattered minor pressure dents and dings. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
