The accompanying factory letter verifies the serial number, caliber, 6" barrel with in the white finish and a blue barrel, "Without grips". The special features section states as follows. "New frame profile and round hammer safety and slide stop system. Maker and address markings on left side of barrel. The frame and slide retaining machine marks. Also, a tag is attached indicating in ink: "GX3128 Pearlite MI frame and slide, 5175 rounds of HiSpeed, See report 6/7/56 TES" ".The letter also states that accessories furnished is a maroon Heritage of Craftsman box with Model S and serial number on Custom Shop end label and that it was shipped to San Francisco, California on October 16, 2008. The remarks state that "Subject pistol was an experimental prototype pistol kept by the Colt factory. The new frame profile consist of a reconfigured grip frame and trigger guard design. The aforementioned box remains with the pistol and a magazine and two piece checkered plastic grips have been added. The one line address is marked on the left side of the barrel and the serial number on the right side of the frame. There are no other markings.

Very good. The barrel retains 99% original blue finish and the frame and slide remain in the white and show some minor discoloration and light spotting. The grips are good with a 1" filled repair on the back edge of each panel and moderate wear to the checkering. The box is very good. Mechanically fine.
