Description:

Established in 1810, Joseph Mappin's firm continues to operate today, becoming silversmiths to British royalty in the process. Blade measures 9 1/2" inches in length, with "MAPPIN/ BROTHERS" and "THE HUNTERS COMPANION/ WARRANTED NOT TO BE/ EXCEEDED IN QUALITY" the left side, with a 3 1/2" unsharpened false edge. Silver hand guard/ collar, with curled quillions and a floral design on the middle section. One piece stag horn grip, with a flared butt.

Rating Definition:

Fair. Pitting and spotting is visible on the blade, and the silver shows a deep, dark color with cracking and chips. Grip is good, with some minor handling marks.
