Description:

All three are fitted with bright steel clip-point blades, full tangs, one piece cross guards and stag grip panels. 1) J. Rodgers bowie knife, 5 inch blade, makers' marks on left ricasso, German silver oval guard and inscription plate on the left grip. 2) Unmarked bowie, 7 5/8 inch blade and brass guard. 3) Rodgers bowie, 4 5/8 inch blade, address and proofs on ricasso, silver oval guard and inscription plate. With a brown leather sheath with silver throat and tip, "EL" scratched into the former.

Rating Definition:

1) Very good, with light spotting and a dark silver patina. 2) Fair, with spotting, a mixed gray patina and sharpening marks. Guard has darkened, grips are very good. 3) Good, with pitting and sharpening marks. Sheath belt loop is tattered, with lost stitching.
