Description:

1) US Ames M1860 Cavalry Saber with Scabbard. "AMES MFG. CO./CHICOPEE/MASS" and "U.S./BH/1861." marked on the ricassos. OAL: 41" with a 34 1/2" blade. 2) Ames M1860 Cavalry Saber with Scabbard. "AMES MFG. CO./CHICOPEE/MASS" and "1860" marked on the ricassos. OAL: 41 1/4" with a 35" blade. 3) US C. Roby M1840 NCO sword. "C. ROBY/W.CHELMSFORD,MS" and "U.S./1863/F.S.S." marked on the ricassos. "F.S.S." marked on the knuckle guard. OAL: 38 1/2" with a 31 3/4" blade.

Rating Definition:

1) Fair overall, patches of grey patina, cleaning/sharpening evidence, and dings on the cutting edge. Grip has worn leather and a small crack, wire wrap intact. Scabbard has scattered dents, brown patina, and scattered oxidation. 2) Fair overall with brown/grey patina, cleaning evidence, and oxidation throughout. Wood of the grip is cracked. Scabbard is pitted throughout. 3) Good overall with brown patina and scattered grey patina, and spotting throughout.
